Love's Melody

Immersed in your gift
Prolonging being submerged  in your waters
The blue horizon
Closer than my imagination could see
Out of the blue
An angel in disguise
Your deep waters have propelled me
To the heavens
Waves crash against the rocks
Rhythms so smooth
Creating a joyful melody of love
So rare, So unselfish
Melting my heart at the very sound
Captivated by the unspoken
As you have arrived
Not expecting you so soon
 The embrace of your memory
Holds every breath one could breathe
Left standing defenseless
Listen and love me
As you feel the beat of
My heart caressing your
Senses

Strange Fruit

Not my own work....but feeling compelled to post. As time progresses one would only imagine that racism would no longer exist.

Southern trees bear a strange fruit,
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black body swinging in the Southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.

Pastoral scene of the gallant South,
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,
Scent of magnolia sweet and fresh,
And the sudden smell of burning flesh!

Here is a fruit for the crows to pluck,
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,
For the sun to rot, for a tree to drop,
Here is a strange and bitter crop.
